Top Tips
- The ContentEngine defaults to display 9 results per page… why not change the number of results to suit your needs?
- Once you have created your ContentUnit, make sure you save the template; that will save you having to re-save it all next time!
- Products without descriptions are suppressed from the result-set; In order to change that, go onto the “Content” tab and de-select “Suppress items with no description”

ContentEngine FAQ’s
What is the ContentEngine?
ContentEngine is an innovative application designed to be a simple method of including up-to-date, dynamic product content to your website. buy.at’s ContentEngine has been engineered so that every time a merchant changes any of their product details on our database, your ContentUnits will be immediately updated.
Why should I use ContentEngine?
By providing dynamic content to your site through buy.at’s ContentEngine, you are increasing the promotional impact of your site and in turn, increasing your earning potential.
Full Customisation:
You can specify all aspects of the ContentEngine’s output, tailoring it to fit neatly into your website. Customize the size, layout, colours, product description and much more. Alternatively, you can quickly create a ContentUnit with a few clicks.
Easy Implementation:
Once you have designed your ContentUnit, there is just one line of code which needs to be copied and added to your web page. This can be delivered through JavaScript, XML and server side languages, such as PHP, enabling your SEO efforts to be maximized.
Advanced users of ContentEngine can change the specifications of existing ContentUnits by manually editing the URL or creating one from scratch.
How can I generate a ContentUnit quickly?
You can simply generate a ContentUnit within a matter of minutes. All you have to do is add a search term in the ContentEngine Wizard and get the code!
What are HeadlineOffers?
Headline offers are products specifically selected by merchants in their feeds to enable you to promote the top offers, sale items or seasonal products. When building a ContentUnit, you can select whether you want it to include (or be limited to) HeadlineOffer items. The default selection shows HeadlineOffers first.
You benefit most from knowing that you are specifying top selling items to be included in your bespoke ContentUnit, giving you more opportunities to increase your sales.
How many products are there?
In our product catalogue there are millions of products from hundreds of merchants available for you to promote.
I could not find the right product I want to promote, what can I do?
Ensure you are searching the correct product category and merchant lists; if you are unsure, select ‘Search All’ from the Category dropdown menu and ‘All Approved Programmes’ in the programme search.
You can also try to refine your search term, by checking spellings, making the term more specific/general and removing punctuation.
How many products can be added to a ContentUnit?
There is no limitation to the number of products to promote. All related products will be displayed according to the pagination options set.
Do I have to keep going into ContentEngineWizard to edit my ContentUnit.
No. If you go the back of the ContentEngine Introduction guide, we have provided you with an advanced users section showing you how you can manipulate the string of code directly.
