Drive top Christmas gifts with ContentEngine and HeadlineOffers!!

Don’t miss out on the chance to boost your sales this festive season, by presenting your site visitors with the products and services they want to buy! ContentEngine, launched in September, has proven to be a huge success with affiliates and is an ideal tool to integrate dynamic content into your site or newsletters, to drive even more sales this Christmas.

We will be working with our merchants to ensure that they are pushing their top Christmas offers through ContentEngine using the HeadlineOffers feature. This means that by integrating the HeadlineOffers feature into your ContentUnits, you are pushing the best buys this Christmas. And all you have to do is tick a box!

Affiliates can fully customise their ContentUnits from the type of products and descriptions displayed, to the look and feel (colours, fonts and layout). One line of code is generated by the ContentEngine Wizard to be added to an affiliate’s site, in XML, JavaScript or using server side languages such as PHP, to maintain the SEO value of the site content.

Top Tips – 2

  • To get the most benefit from your ContentUnits, make sure you insert the code using a server side language, such as PHP, ASP or ColdFusion rather than using the JavaScript, so that it can be crawled by the Search Engines
  • Download the PDF manual available in the Management Area to get a quick overview of the ContentEngine
    • To get a full explanation of all variables in the code and their use, see page 17 onwards
  • If you are not getting a specific required result, you could try:
    • Adding or removing the sub-category
    • Selecting a price range by setting a min and max price
    • Widening your search term

Top Tips

  • The ContentEngine defaults to display 9 results per page… why not change the number of results to suit your needs?
  • Once you have created your ContentUnit, make sure you save the template; that will save you having to re-save it all next time!
  • Products without descriptions are suppressed from the result-set; In order to change that, go onto the “Content” tab and de-select “Suppress items with no description”
